Monday starts with the arrival of two new pateras in the Pitiusas Islands

The boats have been detected with 27 immigrants in Ibiza and Formentera during the morning.

Two boats with 27 immigrants have arrived in the early hours of Monday morning to Formentera and Ibiza, reported the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands. Salvamento Marítimo has rescued at 2.25 am 17 North Africans traveling in a small boat 3.3 miles northeast of Formentera. Shortly after, at 2.45 am, the Guardia Civil and Local Police have found 10 immigrants, also North Africans, on the beach d’En Bossa, in the municipality of Sant Josep. All are in an «apparent» good state of health, according to the Delegation. These figures are added to the 92 people located in the pitiusas during the weekend thanks to different interventions of the Security Forces and Maritime Rescue. So far this year at least 5,400 immigrants have arrived to the Balearic archipelago aboard 325 small boats, according to the EFE count. Last year 128 boats reached the islands, with a total of 2,278 people.
