A black Seat Ibiza ended up as a wreck after a spectacular accident occurred on the Cala Compte road, around six o’clock this morning. The vehicle, which was driving erratically, went off the road and crashed hard into a telephone pole, breaking it in two. As a result of the collision, the car rolled over several times before it was overturned on its roof, with the bodywork completely deformed. So much so that the roof reached the height of the seats.
Driver injured and rescued by firefighters
The sole occupant of the car suffered multiple injuries and cuts to his arms, and was taken by ambulance with a reserved prognosis. Firefighters and Guardia Civil officers went to the scene of the accident, who worked on the rescue of the driver and traffic regulation, as the vehicle was obstructing the road.
Restoration of traffic and alert for more accidents
Operators of Grúas Ibiza removed the car with a boom crane, allowing the traffic to be reestablished. In addition, Xarxa Viaria was in charge of cleaning the road of the numerous remains of the car.
This accident was not an isolated case. According to emergency sources, during the night there were other accidents on the island, although of lesser severity. The authorities insist on extreme caution at the wheel to avoid new tragedies on the roads of Ibiza.
