The Councilor for Enterprise, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Saenz de San Pedro, has announced the drafting of a law on industrial estates «to define the rules of the game» in these industrial areas of the Balearic Islands, similar to that existing in other communities such as Valencia. «There will be no obligations, there will be incentives and support,» he said. The Conselleria will also promote business associations in this area because there are only a dozen associations for the 54 existing industrial estates, explained the minister in his appearance before the Economy Committee of the Parliament to present the strategic lines of his department for the legislature.
The councilor said that the work that awaits them is «very technical» and explained that the general directorates of Industry and Industrial Estates and Enterprise, Self-Employed and Trade will study the situation of the sector to have «detailed» data such as how many businesses there are or what economic impact the industrial estates generate on the islands.
