The Guardia Civil and the National Police have dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering that operated between the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. The operation, developed in several phases, has resulted in the seizure of more than 687 kilos of cocaine, 2,500 kilos of hashish, other narcotic substances and more than 1.5 million euros in cash.
According to both security forces, the network introduced the drugs through the waters of Ibiza, from where they were distributed to other points of the archipelago and the Peninsula. With this action, the security forces consider that the criminal structure, considered one of the most active in maritime drug trafficking in the Mediterranean area, has been completely dismantled.
The operation has been developed in different phases throughout the last months, with coordinated interventions in several peninsular provinces and in the Balearic Islands. It was reported that part of the drugs and material seized will be on public display this Thursday.
