The intense downpour of water that has fallen this Thursday morning on the Pitiusas has caused several incidents in the road network and in several parts of the municipality of Ibiza.
The airport road has already been reopened to traffic as it passes through Can Funoi, after remaining partially affected by the rains. On the other hand, the Xarxa Viària teams are working on the removal of a fallen tree on the Ses Salines road, one of the points most affected by the storm.
The Local Police of Ibiza has started early in the morning a special day of traffic regulation in the main accesses to the city due to the rainfall recorded and the yellow alert notice issued by the Directorate General of Emergencies of the Balearic Government.

During the first hours of the day, the rains have caused occasional flooding in different areas of the municipality, including the park of s’Illa, which has had to be closed due to accumulation of water. Also, a tree has fallen in Sant Jordi Avenue, which has required the intervention of municipal services.
The Ibiza Town Hall has reminded citizens of the importance of extreme caution and to keep informed through official channels.
Complicated morning in the Pitiusas
The residents of Ibiza and Formentera have dawned with an increasingly common scene: flooded streets, broken down vehicles and traffic jams. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) had been warning of the rainy episode for two days and kept the yellow alert active until noon on Thursday.

At around 7:15 a.m., an intense downpour discharged over the islands, flooding streets, highways and garages. Residents of Platja d’en Bossa and the center of Ibiza reported traffic jams and flooding in the main arteries.

According to AEMET, precipitation in the form of hail could also be recorded during the day, and waves at sea could reach three meters in height.
