A young woman has died and another has been seriously injured after a head-on collision between two vehicles occurred in the early hours of Saturday, November 8, at kilometer 5 of the PM-810 road, in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu, as reported by SAMU 061 and the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera.
The accident, recorded at 00:24 hours, involved two cars carrying six people. In one of the vehicles there were two Brazilian women, while in the other there were four young people.
Two advanced life support ambulances (SVA 061), two basic life support ambulances (SVB 061), as well as security forces and firefighters were sent to the scene, according to the Balearic Islands Emergency and Urgencies Coordination Center (CCUM 061).
One death and several people injured
Health teams attended and stabilized a 48-year-old woman, resident of Ibiza and Brazilian nationality, who was transferred to Can Misses Hospital with a diagnosis of polytraumatism. According to sources of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera, the patient is “stable within the gravity” and remains under observation in the Emergency Department of the hospital.
The co-driver of the same vehicle, a 39-year-old Brazilian woman, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the SAMU 061 report.
The four occupants of the second car were slightly injured and were taken to the Vilás Clinic and the Can Misses Hospital for evaluation.
The provisional balance sheet provided by 061 indicates one person dead, one seriously injured and four slightly injured.
