The Ibiza Town Hall has informed that this Monday, November 10, will be carried out milling works, repair of the cover frame and resurfacing in Tagomago street, just before the intersection with Al Sabini street. The intervention, of an urgent nature, aims to correct the sinking of the pavement and improve safety conditions on the road.
Detours and recommendations
During the works, traffic will be closed between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., so vehicles will have to detour through Lucio Oculacio Street. It is recommended avoid the area and plan travel in advance..
The Consistory has asked for the understanding of drivers and neighbors for the possible inconvenience caused by the works.
One more action within the Municipal Resurfacing Plan
The works in Tagomago Street are part of the Municipal Plan for Resurfacing, which the City Council has been carrying out since last September. This program has improved the road network in main roads such as Via Punica, Via Romana, Iboshim and Francesc Escanelles, with the aim of reinforcing road safety and renewing the deteriorated road surface in different areas of the city.
The third deputy mayor and councilor of Works, Blanca Hernández, has recently stressed that the interventions of the plan “are carefully planned to minimize the effects on traffic and ensure the safety of both operators and road users”.
Progressive improvements throughout the urban network
In recent weeks the resurfacing of Iboshim street has been completed and works have been carried out in Francesc Escanelles and Ramon Muntaner, as reported by La Voz de Ibiza on October 30. With the action planned for this Monday in Tagomago, the Consistory advances in its plan of integral improvement of the urban pavement, which includes sections of high traffic and residential areas where subsidence or irregularities in the asphalt layer had been detected.
The City Council maintains its commitment to progressively renovate the most deteriorated streets in the municipality, prioritizing those with the most traffic or with structural incidents. “The goal is that the neighbors notice a real improvement in mobility and safety in their daily commute,” said the mayor.
