Sara Navarro, deputy medical director of Primary Care of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera, has announced her resignation, which will take effect on December 16, coinciding with her return to the Primary Care practice where she worked before assuming the management position.
In a letter sent to his colleagues, Navarro explained that his decision was due to personal reasons related to his recent maternity, and pointed out that it was a “very well thought-out” decision. As reported by Radio Ibiza, Navarro thanked the trust placed in him by the Health Area Management and the work of his colleagues, stressing that the position requires “full dedication” that he cannot offer at the moment.
Navarro has held the position of deputy medical director of Primary Care since November 2023, after a career in health care.

His resignation adds to the series of resignations and dismissals that the management of the Pitiusa Health Area has experienced in recent months. Of the eleven members of the management team, five have resigned and one has been dismissed since the beginning of the legislature.
At the end of September, the medical director of the Health Area, Sausan Sayed, and the deputy director of the Surgical Area, Manuel Deiros, both of whom will remain in their positions for a transition period. In the same month, Ana María Jiménez, Deputy Director of Primary Care Nursing, was dismissed. Previously, in December, Carmen Costa, Deputy Director of Management and General Services, had also resigned and was replaced by Cristian Coll. In addition, the Director of Nursing, Ana María Ribas, left her position in April.
Another outstanding case was that of Javier Marí, ex-director of Management and General Services, who was forced to resign because he did not meet the qualifications required for the position, although he was later reinstated after a modification of the requirements. A hiring that the PSOE described as “fraudulent”, calling for the dismissal of the current manager, Enrique Garcerán.
A prolonged situation
“There is no common pattern” said from the Management to La Voz de Ibiza when this media reported on the numerous greetings in the management team. Thus, the Pitiusa Health Area attributes the departures to personal reasons or to normal internal reorganization processes.
The departure of Sara Navarro revives the debate on the stability of the Pitiusa health management, in a context marked by a succession of changes in key positions in the Health Area.
