British airline Jet2.com announced Wednesday that it will open a new base at London-Gatwick Airport by 2026, from where it will connect to eleven Spanish destinations.
Specifically, from this new base will offer two flights a week to Ibiza, as detailed, in addition to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. In addition, it will have three frequencies to Tenerife South, Menorca, Girona and Reus, while it will fly to Malaga four times a week, to Alicante five times a week and to Mallorca ten times a week.
The CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy, said that this is a “fantastic” opportunity to expand the range of options from the UK to Spain and to consolidate its position as the leading tour operator between the UK and the Canary and Balearic Islands.
“London brings together a huge number of potential travelers to Spain and now we will offer flights from three of its airports, also providing the possibility of visiting the capital of England from Spain in a more flexible and affordable way,” he stressed.
