The Eivissa Town Hall, through the areas of Education and Children, launches a new edition of Children’s Week, an event that brings together educational, creative and family activities with the aim of promoting knowledge and protection of the rights of minors. The programming is part of the celebration of Universal Children’s Rights Day, which will take place on November 20.
A school competition to reflect on children’s rights
Among the most outstanding proposals is the “Drawing my rights” bookmark contest, aimed at 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. Through this initiative, schoolchildren reflect on their rights and represent them in an artistic way. The winning designs will be printed and distributed to all educational centers and the Municipal Library, an action that seeks to disseminate children’s view of their own rights.
Representation in the Children’s Parliament
Coinciding with November 20, four students from CEIP Sa Joveria will represent the municipality in the Children’s Parliament of the Balearic Islands, to be held in Palma.
“The children will present proposals worked on a didactic unit focused on the protection of minors in the digital environment, the result of a reflection on safety and well-being in the use of technology,” said the second deputy mayor and councilor of Education, Catiana Fuster.
Children and Youth Plenary Sessions at Can Botino
Children’s Week also includes two plenary sessions:

Children’s Plenary Session: Monday, November 17, 11:30 am

Youth Plenary Session: Friday, November 21, 11:30 am
Both meetings will be held at Can Botino with the participation of students from Primary, 3rd and 4th ESO. Previously, the students will work on the didactic unit “Our proposals for the city of Eivissa”, where they propose improvements for their municipality.
The ideas will then be transferred to the corresponding municipal areas to assess their feasibility in areas such as youth, leisure, environment, cleanliness, culture, road safety or social welfare.
Talk for families with music therapist Sara Noguera
The program also includes an activity aimed at mothers, fathers and caregivers. On Friday, November 21, at 5:30 pm, the Espai Cultural de Can Ventosa will host the talk:
“Respectful parenting: management and the need for patience in education”, given by Sara Noguera, teacher, music therapist and specialist in respectful parenting.
“It will be a free session designed to offer practical tools from the calm, respect and empathy,” explained the Councilor for Children, Sara Barbado. The activity will include a toy library service and requires prior registration through the form provided.
A children’s musical to close Children’s Week
Finally, on Sunday, November 23, at 5 p.m., the Can Ventosa Cultural Space will host the children’s musical “Divertilandia”, a show with children’s songs from all ages performed and choreographed by four actors, accompanied by very recognizable animated characters for the little ones.
