The Kit Digital program has closed its third year in the Balearic Islands with a record number of adhesions, after more than 20,600 SMEs and self-employed professionals have applied for this aid to digitize their businesses. According to the Government Delegation, the archipelago has exceeded 85 million euros granted since the beginning of the plan, which places it as one of the territories with the highest implementation of this state initiative.

The Balearic Islands will receive an unprecedented volume of financing in 2026
The balance sent by the Administration indicates that more than 76,500 workers, of which 64% are self-employed, have participated in some of the procedures linked to the program. The digitalization of basic processes, such as web pages, management of social networks or cybersecurity, has been the main way of improvement for small businesses, especially in Ibiza and the rest of the islands, where the impact has been concentrated in commerce, hospitality and financial services.
Digitizing agents, a key part of the deployment
The official document states that there are more than 11,000 digitization agents operating in the archipelago, who have managed 31,527 digitization agreements. Their role has been decisive for thousands of businesses to adopt technological services of daily use, from the management of internal processes to security systems in the workplace.
Part of the success, according to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is due to the “agile” operation of the program. 90% of the procedures are resolved automatically and applications are handled in a maximum of 15 days, provided there are no incidents. This design has made it possible to absorb the volume of requests registered in the five open calls since 2022.
Business digitalization is growing in Spain
The Ministry also indicates that, since the start of the Digital Kit, the level of digitalization of the Spanish business fabric has risen from 38% to 51%, while productivity has increased by 65%. This progress, they point out, is in line with the objectives of the Recovery Plan and with the strategy to reduce technological gaps between sectors.
