Births have experienced between January and September 2025 in the Balearic Islands a decrease of -3.28% over the same period last year, to 6,504 births, according to data released Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Of those born last September in the archipelago (843), 408 were females and 435 were males.
Most of the births were to mothers in the 30-34 age group (272); 35-39 (233) and 25-29 (180).
On the other hand, as far as deaths are concerned, the INE statistics published this Wednesday reveal that up to week 44 of 2025, 7,588 deaths were recorded in the Balearic Islands, 0.54% more than in the same week of the previous year. Only in this week 148 people died in the Islands.
