Magic and sustainability have come together one more year in the Pitiusas Islands with the return of ‘The Magic of Recycling’, the children’s show organized by IbizaPreservation and the Magic Association of Ibiza (AMIF). The initiative, which has the support of Depeche Mode, Hublot and the international environmental network Conservation Collective, has brought together more than 330 students in two days full of illusion and ecological awareness.
A very special first stop in Formentera
The main novelty of this edition has been its landing in Formentera, where this morning 184 students of 5th and 6th grade of primary school from the schools Mestre Lluís Andreu, Pilar de la Mola and Sant Ferran de ses Roques have filled the Sala de Cultura de Sant Francesc. The event has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Consell Insular de Formentera, while Trasmapi has facilitated the transfer of the equipment from Ibiza.
IbizaPreservation emphasizes that the performance has allowed schoolchildren “toenjoy an educational and fun experience focused on the importance of caring for the environment“.

Ibiza keeps its appointment with sustainability
The previous Thursday was the turn of Ibiza, where 150 schoolchildren from CEIP Balansat, Vara de Rey, Poeta Villangómez and Portal Nou participated in the performance held at the Centro de Cultura Can Jeroni, with the support of the Ajuntament de Sant Josep. Both performances have shown a great reception among the schools of the islands, which repeat each year to reinforce environmental awareness among students.
Magic, humor and sustainability to inspire the heroes of the future
On stage, actress Júlia Marí and magicians Alexis and Dantés Junior combined games, tricks and visual effects to transmit clear messages about sustainability in a close and fun way. Their goal: to awaken in children the desire to become “the heroes and heroines that the planet needs“.
The director of IbizaPreservation, Inma Saranova, reminded the audience that “protecting the environment is not a magic trick, but something we can all do every day“. She also insisted on going beyond simple recycling: “Recycling is just one of the seven R’s we must apply: reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, rethink, reject and collect are just as important”.
A key action within the Balearic Islands project Weaving Future
‘The Magic of Recycling’ is part of “Weaving the Future: Alliance for the Preservation of the Balearic Islands”, a joint project promoted by IbizaPreservation, Mallorca Preservation and Menorca Preservation, which work together to combat plastic pollution in the archipelago.
The initiative acts on three fronts:
-
Scientific research
-
Boosting the circular economy
-
Citizen awareness
The show began its tour in Mallorca last October and will soon conclude in Menorca, reinforcing the spirit of island cooperation in pursuit of a more sustainable future for all the Balearic Islands.
