SD Ibiza continues to gain strength and confidence in a Municipal de Sant Rafel that is becoming a favorable territory for the unocerismo. The team coached by Raúl Casañ won 1-0 against Girona B in a hard-fought match, corresponding to the 12th matchday of Group 3 of the Second RFEF, and has now achieved its best streak of the season with three wins in the last four matches.
The rojillo eleven presented new features on the left wing with the entry of Andrada for the suspended Adrián, while Jaume Villar alternated between the defense and the midfield depending on the phases of possession. The duel started with intensity and warnings in both areas, such as
SD Ibiza responded with a long-range shot from Álex Sánchez that grazed the post, and despite the alternating dominance, the defenses prevailed in a final stretch of the first act marked by lack of control and quick transitions. Bourdal was providential in cutting out a free ball in the six-yard box before the game went to the break goalless.
After the changing rooms, Casañ introduced Marcos and Lorenzo Busi to revitalize the attack, and the move proved key. In one of his first interventions, Marcos put a ball into the box that led to an action reviewed by the referee: Villar was hit in the face inside the area and the referee pointed to a penalty. Marcos himself converted the penalty with aplomb to make it 1-0 and spark celebrations in Sant Rafel.
SD Ibiza maintained their momentum and came close to extending the lead with a very clear chance for Gilbert, whose one-on-one was solved by goalkeeper Sergi Puig. With Bernal imposing order in midfield and Riquelme providing clarity, the Pitiusas managed the pace of the game against a Girona B team that could not find ways to activate Garrido or a dull Arango.
In the final stretch, the locals reinforced their defensive structure with the entry of Joan Prado, while the Catalan subsidiary sought more offensive presence with Arenzana. Even so, the most dangerous chance was again Ibiza’s: Marcos came close to the second with a volley that went close to the top corner in the 87th minute. The added time passed without surprises and SD Ibiza certified a victory that consolidates their recovery and brings them closer to the relegation places with 14 points.
The Municipal de Sant Rafel is once again synonymous with security for a team that has found in defensive order and minimum efficiency a reliable formula for climbing positions.
