The program organized by the City Council of Eivissa on the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women (25N) continues this week with one of its most outstanding proposals: the play Lo normal, by the company El Terral. The initiative is part of a calendar that includes theater, cinema, workshops, talks and family activities, all of them focused on promoting equality and raising awareness among citizens about the different forms of violence against women.
Theater and reflection with Lo normal
The play Lo normal combines theatrical performance and discussion to invite the audience to question how sexist patterns and roles are normalized in romantic relationships. Through recognizable scenes, the play highlights dynamics that are often assumed to be part of “the normal”, despite reproducing harmful behaviors.
The show will be performed on Friday, November 28 at Can Ventosa. In the morning there will be two exclusive sessions for the municipality’s high schools, while the performance open to the general public will take place at 8 pm. 25N institutional act and family proposals
The central day of November 25 will feature the traditional rally and reading of the manifesto in the Parc de la Pau, organized by the 8M Commission. The City Council will set up an information tent and the Casal de Igualdad will develop specific activities in order to bring resources and encourage citizen participation.
The program also includes activities for families and young audiences, such as the storytelling ‘L’Olivia and feathers’, by Susana Isern, which will take place on November 27 at 18.00 hours in the Casal de Igualdad. That same space will host the Feminist Reading Club, dedicated on this occasion to L’invencible estiu de 2 de Liliana, scheduled for 18.30 hours.
Youth, urban music and closing with a talk on functional diversities
Youth will have a prominent role in the educational programming of 25N. The workshop ‘Iguali-rap’, taught by Erika Dos Santos, will address equality through rap and freestyle with sixth grade students. In the afternoon there will be an open freestyle session, scheduled at 7.00 am, aimed at promoting new forms of expression from urban music.
The program will close on December 2 with the talk ‘Seeing the Invisible’, by Nora González, at the C19 center, focused on violence against women in relation to functional diversities, a reality that often goes unnoticed.
The agenda of the 25N in Eivissa brings together a wide variety of proposals that seek to raise awareness, educate and mobilize citizens against all forms of violence against women, stressing the importance of a collective and continuous response.
