One hundred workers of Mutua Balear concentrated this Thursday in the headquarters of Palma and Ibiza to demand a salary update, in a claim called by SATSE (the nursing union), CCOO and UGT. The protest, which affects a workforce of more than 500 employees throughout Spain, focuses on the remuneration tables of the post complement, signed in 2021 and which, according to the unions, have become “outdated”. In Ibiza, the rally was held at the gates of the mutual company, in a context of growing labor tension.
Unions demand “real willingness to negotiate”.
Satse urged management to address “urgently” the staff pay situation. “It has a responsibility to show a real willingness to negotiate. It is not possible to maintain conditions that

UGT pointed out that it has already asked the management of Mutua Balear to request authorization from the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Security to renegotiate the job complement tables and adjust them to the real workload, functions and responsibilities. The union recalls that working conditions have changed in recent years without the salary structure having changed:

If there is no “immediate progress”, warn Satse, CCOO and UGT, the mobilizations will intensify in the coming weeks. Even so, Satse maintains its predisposition to dialogue, as long as the objective is to guarantee “decent working conditions”.
