The Executive Council of the Consell Insular de Ibiza has approved this Friday, in urgent and extraordinary session, the bases that will regulate the aids destined to people and companies affected by the damages caused by the DANA and the ex-hurricane Gabrielle. The agreement, agreed with the municipalities of the island, PIMEEF and the Chamber of Commerce, allows to move forward in the activation of the economic support committed to the victims.
The bases establish the criteria and maximum amounts of the subsidies, which will cover three priority areas: up to 2,500 euros per affected home, up to 2 , 000 euros per vehicle and up to 10,000 euros per business. These grants will be financed with the 5 million euros from the agreement signed this week between the Consell de Ibiza and the Govern Balear.
The insular institution remarks that the document has been prepared as a priority due to the high number of incidents recorded in homes, commercial premises and automobiles. The objective, they emphasize, is to offer a quick and effective response to the damages caused by the extraordinary meteorological episode.
The Consell has also announced that the complete bases will be published next week in the BOIB, an essential step to officially open the deadline for submitting applications. Once the extract has been published, the persons and companies affected will be able to start the procedure to apply for the aids.
The insular institution reiterates its commitment to speed up the process as much as possible so that the economic support reaches those affected “in the shortest possible time” and helps to alleviate the damage caused by one of the most intense storms that Eivissa has experienced in recent years.
