UD Ibiza signed this Sunday a victory of high symbolic and competitive value: 3-0 against Algeciras, at the Can Misses stadium, in a match corresponding to the day of Primera RFEF. The result was the first victory of the team with Miguel Álvarez as coach, after several weeks of drought in the scoreboard despite the good sensations of the game.
Patient start and two goals before halftime
The Ibizan team started the duel with a serene and dominating game proposal, betting on long possession and changes of direction to look for spaces. The match was briefly interrupted in the first minutes due to an incident in the stands that required medical intervention. After the restart, the pace increased and Ibiza imposed its quality.
The first goal came in the 12th minute: Bebé broke down the left and crossed with precision for Davo to head into the net. The goal did not make the team relax. On the contrary, Álvarez’s team continued to push forward with ambition, with several approaches that put the visiting defense in trouble.
Before the break, in the 44th minute, Fran Castillo scored his first goal in a light blue shirt: a tight shot into the top corner after a great combination with Davo inside the area. The 2-0 scoreline reinforced the home side’s dominance and left the team with an advantage and confidence going into the second half.
Smooth control and final judgment
At the restart, Algeciras came out with a more aggressive approach, willing to close the gap. However, Ibiza maintained their tactical order and controlled the tempo of the match without too much trouble.
Miguel Álvarez moved the bench in the 62nd minute with a triple substitution that proved decisive: Sofiane, Gallar and Mounir came on to freshen up the attack. And it was precisely Sofiane who closed the scoring in the final stretch of the match, finishing off a low pass from Mounir from the wing.

The 3-0 final score reflects a change of dynamic in UD Ibiza, which after five games without a win (one defeat and four draws) managed to combine play and effectiveness. In addition, it was the first victory since the arrival of Miguel Álvarez, a result that can be a turning point for the final stretch of the championship.
