The Ibiza Town Hall has taken a decisive step to strengthen equal opportunities and support for children’s talent in the municipality. The institution has initially approved the regulatory bases and the call for financial aid from the Ernesto Ehrenfeld Foundation for 2026, aimed at children with high abilities who attend primary or secondary education.
These scholarships, created to promote the cultural and academic development of talented children, give special priority to those in vulnerable situations. The Foundation’s overall budget for 2026 amounts to 229,871.44 euros, which guarantees the continuity and sustainability of future calls for applications.
Three ways of accessing aid
The approved rules establish a clear order of priority for the awarding of scholarships:
-
Talented children orphaned by both parents.
-
Talented children orphaned by a parent.
-
Children with special abilities and low economic resources, provided that there are no applications in the previous groups.
Talent may be accredited by means of an academic certificate or a report from the guidance service of the educational center. All applicants must be registered in Eivissa, enrolled in primary or secondary school and up to date with their tax obligations.
An initial fund and the possibility of extending scholarships
The 2026 call for applications starts with an initial appropriation of 1,500 euros, enough to award three 500-euro scholarships. However, if demand exceeds this budget, the Foundation’s accumulated surplus from previous years may be used.
Deadline and submission of applications
The application period will be fifteen working days from the date of publication of the call for applications on the notice board of the municipal electronic headquarters: https://eivissa.sedelectronica.es.
