The 10K Ibiza-Platja d’en Bossa continues to grow at an unstoppable pace. Two months away from its 2026 edition, the race is about to hang the sold-out sign: there are only 100 bibs available for the race to be held on February 15. The last registrations can be formalized through the official website, and everything points to a new record of participation with about 1,500 runners of all levels.
The 2026 edition will be especially significant, as it will be held in conjunction with the Spanish 10K Road Race Championship, a highly prestigious event coming to the island for the first time.
In this sense, the mayor of Sant Josep, Vicent Roig, stressed that “Sant Josep is proud to host such a special edition of the 10K. It is a race that is enjoyed by residents, neighbors of the island and those who visit us to experience this special sporting atmosphere. This race not only promotes sport, but allows us to share the best of our town and we are ready to welcome the runners and live together a weekend that will be historic.
Record participation
The arrival of the Spanish Championship will turn Sant Josep into the stage where the new national champions will be crowned, both in absolute and veteran categories, reinforcing its position as a reference point for sports tourism and the epicenter of running in Spain. The attractiveness of the event is already unquestionable: 42% of those registered come from the peninsula or abroad, motivated by a fast and spectacular circuit that crosses the Natural Park of Ses Salines and the tourist coast of Sant Josep de sa Talaia.
The 10K Ibiza-Platja d’en Bossa also stands out for its elite records. The Kenyan Benson Kiplangat (27:18) and his compatriot Miriam Chebet (30:40) hold records that place this race among the fastest in Europe, consolidating its reputation as an essential event for professional and amateur athletes.
The event will once again have the seal of tourist interest of the Consell d’Eivissa and the support of the City Council of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. Its Sports Councilman, Xicu Ribas, stressed that “the 10K Ibiza-Platja d’en Bossa is an example of how sport can unite natural attractions, popular participation and high-level competition. From the Sports area we will continue to support an event that grows year after year and that places Sant Josep on the map of national running”.
The race is sponsored by Ibiza Tourism and co-financed by the Sustainable Tourism Tax fund of the Government of the Balearic Islands, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the promotion of sport and a responsible tourism model.
