The AEMET announces for this Tuesday, December 16 a clearly unstable scenario in Ibiza, with a probability of rainfall of 100% from noon. The sky will remain overcast with thunderstorms, especially between 12.00 and 18.00 hours, while in the morning intervals of very heavy cloudiness with light rain are expected.
The south wind will gain intensity throughout the day, reaching maximum gusts of up to 35 km / h, and temperatures will range between 14 and 17 degrees, with a relative humidity close to 100% in some parts of the day, as far as Vila is concerned.
Widespread showers and strong wind on Wednesday
Wednesday, December 17 will be one of the most adverse days of the week. The forecast points to practically continuous rains, with a 100% probability of precipitation during most of the day. The sky will remain cloudy or overcast, with persistent showers, although of less intensity towards the night.
The wind from the northeast will blow strongly, reaching maximum gusts of up to 40 km/h. Temperatures will remain stable, with highs of 17 degrees and lows around 11 degrees.
Gradual decrease of instability from Thursday onwards
From Thursday 18, the weather situation will tend to a slight improvement, although precipitation will not disappear. Cloudy intervals with weak rains are expected, with a probability of rain of 75%, and a snow elevation located around 1,400 meters, without direct affectation to the island.
The wind will continue to blow from the northeast, although with less intensity, and temperatures will rise slightly to a maximum of 18 degrees.
Weekend under water
Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, the AEMET maintains the forecast of recurrent rains. On Friday 19 cloudy intervals with rain are expected, while on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 the sky will be overcast or with cloudy intervals and precipitation, with probabilities that are again at 100%.
Temperatures will remain mild, with highs between 16 and 18 degrees, and lows that could drop to 9 degrees.
High wind warning for the beginning of next week
The instability will continue on Monday, December 22, a day in which persistent rains are expected, a snow level in the Balearic Islands around 1,100 meters and an episode of strong wind from the south, with maximum gusts that could reach 60 km/h.
