The City Council of Sant Josep will submit this Thursday to vote the 2026 municipal budgets, which exceed 58 million euros, with the already guaranteed support of Vox. The government team of the Popular Party, chaired by Vicent Roig, needs only one vote in favor or abstention to approve the accounts.
Vox councilwoman Araceli Colomar has already assured her support for the draft budget after noting that it incorporates some of the main demands of her party, as confirmed by Radio Ibiza.
Security, squatting and equality cuts
Among the commitments included are aid for owners of squatted homes and a strengthening of public safety, especially in areas such as Platja d’en Bossa and Cala de Bou. In this area, Colomar has defended the installation of cameras and the use of four drones, a measure that he described as a “Big Brother” in terms of security to control access along the coast and activity in the streets.
The mayor of Vox has also positively valued the implementation of campaigns against bullying, free summer schools, a new school workshop, aid for the return to school and increased allocations for the rural world, especially the agricultural sector, a repeated claim of her group.
Colomar has admitted, however, his disagreement with the permanence of items earmarked for gender and equality policies, although he stressed that they have been significantly reduced.
The support of Vox represents a change of alliances with respect to the previous year, when the municipal government managed to approve the budgets thanks to the abstention of Unidas Podemos. For the moment, the direction of the vote of Raquel Ripoll, councilor initially elected on the lists of Vox and currently integrated in the Mixed group after breaking with her former formation, is still unknown.
