The dance and flamenco school Are-T has delivered to the City Council of Sant Antoni de Portmany a total of 155 new toys collected during the solidarity festival “For the smile of a child”, held last Saturday December 13 at the Mercat de Nadal, located in the Passeig de ses Fonts.
The gifts have been received by the Municipal Social Services area and will be destined to the children of families using this service, so that they can enjoy Christmas with illusion and in equal conditions.

The festival, directed by Bárbara Gordaliza, head of the Are-T school, has established itself as one of the most important solidarity events in the Christmas program of the municipality and has a wide citizen participation every year, which allows the realization of initiatives to support those most in need.
The councilman of Social Welfare, Jorge Nacher, thanked the involvement of the school and the solidarity of the residents of the municipality. “We want to thank Are-T for their social commitment and all the people who have collaborated by providing toys. Thanks to this initiative we can support families who need it most in these special dates,” he said.
Nacher explained that a total of 36 families using Social Services and 58 minors will benefit from this solidarity action, which will contribute to making Christmas celebrations more special. “Actions such as ‘For the smile of a child’ reinforce the values of solidarity and cooperation that define our municipality,” he added.
