Club Nàutic Sant Antoni has made a total donation of 15,000 euros to Caritas Parroquial de Sant Antoni with the aim of helping to refill its solidarity food warehouse for the Christmas holidays and to help reduce its debt by paying outstanding invoices.
The donation has been made both in kind and in direct economic aid. Specifically, the club has contributed 6,000 euros in basic food and hygiene products and a check for 9,000 euros, which was delivered to the director of Caritas Parish of Sant Antoni, Antonio Mohedas, by the manager of the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, Diana Loro.
The origin of this aid dates back to the last few days, when the Board of Directors of the CNSA became aware of the critical situation of the Caritas warehouse, which was practically out of supplies to meet the needs of users during the Christmas season. Given this scenario, the club’s president, Pep Tur, along with the rest of the Board of Directors, immediately approved this extraordinary contribution to alleviate both the lack of food and the economic burden of the social entity.
Solidarity actions
It is not the first time that Club Nàutic Sant Antoni collaborates with Caritas. At the request of its members, the club has made financial contributions and food donations on various occasions, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and also in subsequent years, maintaining a constant line of support for the social work of the organization.
From the CNSA they wanted to encourage companies and individuals to join this type of solidarity initiatives, recalling the importance of the work carried out by organizations such as Caritas in supporting the most vulnerable people.
This action is part of the social and sporting work of Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, which includes educational projects, sporting and social events, sailing and canoeing schools, the ‘Setmana del Mar’ and various campaigns for the protection and care of the environment developed for decades.
