More than 250 bikers dressed as Santa Claus toured Ibiza to support Caritas in a day with great participation, which flooded the island of solidarity and Christmas spirit.
Sant Antoni de Portmany was this Sunday the starting point of one of the most peculiar and endearing images of Christmas in Ibiza. More than 250 bikers dressed as Santa Claus participated in the tenth edition of the solidarity biker Papanoelada, an initiative promoted by the Pitiús Team Motoclub Ibiza that combined passion for two wheels with a gesture of generosity in these special dates.

Just a few minutes past ten in the morning when the participants started their engines in the Paseo de ses Fonts, in Sant Antoni. Before, those who came to the event could enjoy a charity chocolate, sponsored by the City Council, with a symbolic cost of two euros.
At the same time, a Caritas stand was set up where non-perishable food was collected for people in vulnerable situations. A simple gesture that gave meaning to the unwritten motto of the event: enjoy, share and help.
Route around the island and a festive finale
The route, which passed without incident, took the bikers through some of the main urban centers of Ibiza. From Sant Antoni, the retinue passed through Sant Josep, Sant Jordi and Platja d’en Bossa, and then entered the city of Ibiza along the Avenida España and made a single stop at the port of Vila.
From there, they resumed the route to Jesus, to reach the end point of the day in Santa Eulària, where around two o’clock in the afternoon a brotherhood meal was held to put the finishing touch to a day full of motor, color and solidarity.
An event that grows every year
The Papanoelada was born a decade ago by the Pitiús Team Motoclub Ibiza, known for its Sunday motorcycle rides, which usually gather an average of fifty participants.
But this Christmas event exceeded all expectations: more than 70% of the attendees came in costume.
