The Hospital de Formentera has reported a decrease in waiting lists for both outpatient consultations and surgery, according to data for the month of December provided by the health center itself.
According to this information, the total number of patients pending a consultation with a specialist has been reduced by 47.14% in the last year, from 350 people to 185, while the average delay would have decreased by 61.68%, from 87.5 to 33.5 days.
According to the data released, the reduction is particularly significant in the number of patients waiting more than 60 days for a consultation, which is reported to have dropped by 77.85%, from 149 to 33 in the same period. The hospital attributes this evolution to the organizational measures adopted over the last year.
Regarding the surgical waiting list, the Hospital de Formentera reports that the total number of people pending surgery has decreased by 62.5%, from 48 patients in December 2024 to 18 at present. Likewise, the average delay for an intervention has been reduced by 18.7%, standing at 53 days, compared to the 65.23 days recorded a year ago.
The health center also points out that, according to its data, the number of patients waiting more than 180 days for surgery has been reduced to zero, when in December last year there were still two people in this situation.
By services, the hospital reports that nine specialties are below the 20-day average delay in outpatient consultations. These include General and Digestive System Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery, Dermatology, Hematology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Cardiology, with reductions that, according to the center, range between 42% and 95%. These data are part of the balance presented by the Hospital de Formentera at the end of December.
