The City Council of Sant Joan de Labritja has put out to tender the project for the improvement and beautification of the surroundings of the church of Sant Vicent de sa Cala, a long-awaited action that will allow the renovation and adaptation of this emblematic enclave of the municipality, maintaining its traditional architectural character.
The initiative has a base budget of 979,884.10 euros, VAT included, and contemplates the creation of a single platform that will eliminate the current unevenness, adapt the existing sidewalks and remove architectural barriers. The objective is to guarantee a fully accessible itinerary for people with reduced mobility, in compliance with Law 8/2017 on universal accessibility of the Balearic Islands.
The works will have an execution period of 12 months from the date of signing of the staking of the works. Sant Joan de Labritja Town Council will be responsible for the majority of the financing, which will assume 90.20% of the total cost, while the Consell Insular de Ibiza will contribute the remaining 9.80%.
The contract is being processed through a simplified open procedure and the award will be made on the basis of the best value for money. The evaluation criteria include the economic offer, the organization and quality of the work, as well as improvements related to the drafting of technical documentation and the incorporation of working hours.
In addition to improving accessibility and the image of the environment, the project includes special execution conditions aimed at sustainability. Among them, priority will be given to the use of efficient machinery -electric, hybrid or natural gas-, the use of single-use plastics will be limited, and printed documentation will be required to be made on FSC-certified paper or equivalent.
