The Emergency Service 112 has activated this Wednesday the severity index 0 (IG-0) of the Meteobal Plan, corresponding to the yellow alert, due to rain forecast in Ibiza and Formentera.
As reported by 112 in a message disseminated through its official account on the social network X, the activation of the plan responds to the forecast of episodes of rain that could affect both islands during the next few hours.
In view of this situation, the Emergency Department has recommended taking preventive measures to avoid the entry of water into homes, remove or secure objects and furniture located outdoors that could be swept away by the water, as well as avoiding access to flood-prone areas.
Likewise, 112 has requested extreme caution when driving, especially on secondary roads and areas where water may accumulate, and to remember the importance of not crossing flooded stretches.
On the other hand, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has reported that it will activate from 23.00 hours the yellow warning for coastal phenomena in Menorca. The warning will be in force until 11.00 am the next day, during which period wind gusts of between 50 and 60 kilometers per hour and waves up to three meters high are expected.
