Evan Gimena Jiménez was the first child born in Formentera this year. The little one came into the world this Monday at 19.00 hours, by caesarean section and weighing 3,145 grams.
According to the Pitiusa Health Area, he is the second child of the couple formed by Maribel Jiménez Tur, a native of Formentera, and Adán Gimena Tortosa, also Spanish.
Evan is the last of the first births in this new year in the public hospitals of the Balearic Islands.
The first was born at the Hospital Universitario Son Espases, shortly after midnight, at 00.50 h on January 1st. He was followed at the Can Misses Hospital at 05.53 am by the first Ibizan, Marwa Udari Checa, weighing 3,200 grams.
