The employment platform InfoJobs offered a total of 3,183 vacancies in the Balearic Islands last December, representing a year-on-year increase of 25.5% compared to the same month in 2024, according to data published Wednesday by the company.
Despite this growth compared to the previous year, the volume of offers registered in the last month of 2025 was 25.7% lower than in November, when the platform published 4,284 vacancies in the archipelago. This monthly decrease is part of the usual evolution of the labor market after the early hiring linked to the Christmas campaign.
At the national level, InfoJobs posted 176,353 vacancies in December, representing a 17% drop compared to the previous month, when 211,723 job offers were posted. However, in the year-on-year comparison, the number of vacancies increased by 13% compared to December 2024, when 155,737 vacancies were recorded.
By sector, purchasing, logistics and warehousing accounted for 18% of the total number of vacancies published in December, followed by sales and commercial ( 12.5%), customer service (9%) and retail (3%). Together, these areas accounted for 42.5% of the vacancies posted on the platform during the last month of the year.
In terms of the volume of applications, the highest number of people registered was in customer service, with 85,829 applications, followed by purchasing, logistics and warehousing (75,188), commercial and sales (50,002) and retail (41,914). The most in-demand positions in December were warehouse handler (13,700 vacancies), delivery driver (12,500) and telemarketer ( 9,800), in addition to profiles such as sales clerk, sales representative and sales assistant.
With regard to the type of contract, 68,269 vacancies offered indefinite-term contracts, representing 38.7% of the offers reporting this aspect, while fixed-term contracts reached 57,028 vacancies, equivalent to 32.3% of the total. In relation to working hours, full-time offers predominated, accounting for 65.4% of the total, compared to 18.2% of positions offering part-time work.
