The Local Police of Ibiza has proposed to sanction a VTC driver after detecting him capturing customers without having a previously requested service, a practice considered an infraction of the Transport Law. As reported by the municipal body in its official Instagram account, this conduct carries a proposed fine of 1,001 euros.
The facts occurred during an intervention in which the agents verified that the driver did not have a contracted service, despite the fact that he was trying to attract passengers. In addition, when he was tested, it was confirmed that he was driving under the influence of narcotic substances.
The police action also resulted in the removal and immobilization of the vehicle and a second proposed fine of 1,000 euros, together with the withdrawal of six points from the driver’s license. According to the publication, the driver was also carrying more substances, which aggravated the intervention.
From the Local Police have reiterated their message of zero tolerance with the consumption of alcohol or drugs at the wheel. “On the road, little joke with alcohol or drugs, it’s about your safety and everyone’s,” they say in their statement, adding that they will continue to be vigilant to ensure road safety in the municipality.
