A woman gave birth to her baby early Thursday morning at her home in Sa Carroca, with the initial assistance of her partner and the telephone support of SAMU 061 personnel.
The emergency service was alerted at 4:35 a.m., when the woman was already in labor. While an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance was on its way to the scene, the father followed the instructions of the coordinating center’s team to attend the birth. Upon arrival of the medical team, they verified that both the mother and the newborn were in good condition. After stabilizing them, they were transferred to Can Misses Hospital, where they received medical attention and remain under observation. SAMU 061 emphasized the importance of rapid response and coordination to ensure the safety of both during this unexpected home birth.
