The night of Tuesday the 12th and early morning of Wednesday the 13th in Ibiza brought with it a panorama marked by the effects of the DANAwhich has kept the island on alert for days. Road incidents and emergency mobilization
Throughout Tuesday night, the Balearic emergency services managed a total of five incidents in Ibiza, with obstacles on the roadway and small landslides being the most common problems. On the Perella road, in the municipality of Santa Eulària, a tree fell, blocking the roadway and requiring the immediate intervention of the fire department. The unit displaced to the site included a fire engine and three firefighters, who worked in the early hours of the morning to clear the road and avoid major setbacks for residents in the area. At other points, such as the EI-200 in Santa Eulària and EI-321 in Sant Carles, rockslides were reported, which caused traffic complications. The Consell de Ibiza has deployed a team of technicians and workers to secure the area and clean the affected areas, while firefighters and emergency services remain on alert for possible new incidents that may arise from the weather situation.
Alert and precautionary measures for the next few days
With the orange alert in effect until noon this Wednesday, authorities are urging the public to use extreme caution, especially when traveling by road and in areas prone to flooding. Conditions are expected to begin to improve after noon, although authorities insist on following the recommendations and avoiding unnecessary travel to ensure the safety of residents.
