The City Council of Sant Josep has launched the call for applications for grants for the prevention of forest fires and the preservation of the rural landscape, increasing by two thirds the budget allocation for this year, from 15,000 to 25,000 euros. These aids, which can be applied for until December 3, seek to promote projects that help to maintain and protect the natural environment of the municipality, with special attention to the management of wooded areas and the revitalization of agricultural land. With the aim of promoting the conservation of the rural environment, the City Council of Sant Josep has decided to increase the budget of these aids, aimed at supporting associations and entities that manage forest and agricultural land. The aids not only seek to contribute to the recovery of crops and agricultural areas, but also to facilitate forest clearing and management actions, essential measures to reduce the risk of fires and preserve the rural landscape of the island.
Who can apply for grants
Access to these grants will be available to associations of owners of forest or rural land, hunting societies, neighborhood associations and communities of owners of housing developments that carry out their activities in the municipality of Sant Josep. These entities, in addition to complying with certain administrative and legal requirements, must demonstrate that their activities are aimed at the preservation of the landscape and the prevention of fires in the territory. Among the actions that can benefit from this subsidy are the planting and recovery of crops on identified land, the construction and maintenance of fire fighting faixas, the installation of fire fighting water tanks and the execution of environmental education and awareness projects. These initiatives must have been carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2023 and must be justified by official documentation and invoices.
Application procedure
Those interested in accessing these grants must submit their application through the electronic headquarters of the City Council of Sant Josep before December 3. The entities must meet the eligibility criteria, which include the obligation to be up to date with tax and social security payments, as well as prove that they are registered in the Register of Associations of Sant Josep, if applicable.
