The UD Ibiza presented this Thursday Paco Jémez as his new coach, in a press conference where the coach left no room for doubt about his intention: to achieve first place in the Primera RFEF and achieve direct promotion. With a determined approach, Jémez stated that “being first must be our only goal”, making it clear that he comes to Ibiza to lead a winning and lasting project. During the presentation event at the Can Misses stadium, Jémez was accompanied by club president Amadeo Salvo and director of professional soccer Juan Giménez, who expressed their confidence in the new coach. Although Jémez acknowledged that accepting the challenge in this division was not an easy decision, he highlighted Salvo’s vision and persistence as key factors that motivated him to accept the challenge. “Returning to Ibiza fills me with enthusiasm, because here I feel that we can achieve something great together,” commented the coach.
A renewed approach to motivate the workforce
Jémez conducted his first training session with UD Ibiza on Thursday, and said he found a talented squad open to change. In his first statements about the team, he noted the importance of building a winning mentality and overcoming recent difficulties in the league. “We know we are coming from a bad streak, but our mentality has to change. We are going to work as a team to reach that first place that we want so much,” said the coach.
A long-term vision with historic ambition
Paco Jémez made it clear that his commitment to the club goes beyond one season. On his return to UD Ibiza, where he was already in the 2021-22 season, he expressed his intention to stay for the long term if they achieve promotion. “I’m not coming just for one year; my goal is to stay and make history with this team,” he said, demonstrating his ambition to build a solid project on the island and consolidate the club in higher divisions.
