On the occasion of the celebration of World Flamenco Day on November 16, the Department of Culture of the City Council of Ibiza prepares next Sunday 17 at 19:00 pm, in the theater of Can Ventosa, a special tribute to this genre. The performance will feature the participation of two exceptional guitarists: José María Gallardo del Rey, a benchmark of flamenco and classical guitar, and Pedro Mateo González, master of classical guitar. José María Gallardo del Rey, internationally recognized, combines the language of classical guitar with the passion of flamenco, which has made him a musical ambassador of Spain worldwide. Pedro Mateo González, for his part, has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as ORTVE and the Balearic Islands Symphony, and has performed on such prestigious stages as the Berlin Philharmonie and Boston’s Jordan Hall. In addition, he has won outstanding awards such as the 2009 Boston Guitar Fest and is currently a professor at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska and the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Islas Baleares. During the concert, the artists will offer a repertoire that will include both solo and duo pieces, fusing flamenco and classical guitar in a unique musical experience that celebrates flamenco with a distinctive touch. Tickets are now available on the City Hall website with a price of 10 euros.
