The Local Government Board of Santa Eulària, held last November 15, has approved a set of projects valued at more than 1.5 million euros, aimed at improving accessibility, mobility and energy efficiency in the municipality. These actions are part of the Municipal Government Action Plan 2023-2027, which prioritizes mobility as one of its main pillars.
Main projects approved
The most outstanding action will be carried out in the Puig d’en Fita-Siesta area, where the low voltage and telecommunications lines in Geranis and Clavells streets will be partially buried. This project, valued at 514,470.50 euros, will eliminate overhead wiring and support poles, which will free the sidewalks of obstacles, facilitating the transit of people with reduced mobility and families with strollers. In Sant Jaume street, between Sol street and Pont Vell, a similar project will be executed, also financed through the agreement of the Strategic Plan of Municipal Investments (PLA5) with the Consell de Ibiza. This work, with a cost of 225,720.54 euros, will improve not only accessibility, but also the visual impact of one of the areas most frequented by residents and tourists. Another major project will be the renovation of Sant Llorenç street, with an investment of 483,119.57 euros. In addition to eliminating architectural barriers and burying lines, the rehabilitation of the road surface, the installation of an irrigation system to reduce water consumption, and the renovation of sanitation, lighting and street furniture will be contemplated. This street connects key points such as Margarita Ankermann Street, the Paseo Marítimo and the Marina, being one of the most used roads in the municipality. The package of measures also includes the replacement of the pavement, the improvement of the lighting and the rainwater network in the Plaza de España, where the town hall is located, with an investment of 259,946.27 euros, the removal of streetlights and the installation of beacons in Puig de Missa, valued at 23,891.63 euros, and new streetlights will be placed in the Torre de Can Negre street, at a cost of 32,098.86 euros.
