Agents of the National Police have arrested last November 22nd two men, aged 49 and 40 years old and of Spanish and Italian nationality, for their involvement in a burglary in a home and a crime of receiving. The arrests were made after an investigation carried out by the group of specialized and violent crime (UDEV) of the Local Police Station of Ibiza. The robbery occurred last November 20 in an apartment located in Paseo Juan Carlos I, owned by a foreign citizen. According to the complaint, the stolen items included cash, a video console and a laptop computer, as well as other personal effects. The agents’ investigation revealed that one of the stolen items, a laptop computer, had been offered for sale by one of the persons now arrested. The buyer was identified and arrested for attempting to obtain a financial benefit from the sale of an object of illicit origin, confirming that the equipment corresponded to the stolen one.
Identification and arrest of the perpetrator of the robbery
With the information gathered after the arrest of the seller and the leads obtained during the investigation, the agents were able to identify and arrest the alleged perpetrator of the home burglary a few hours later. Both men were brought to justice on November 23rd. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of the National Police in solving crimes related to home burglaries and the trade of stolen objects.
A reminder about receiving
The authorities remind the public that acquiring or trading stolen objects not only perpetuates the crime, but also constitutes a serious offense punishable by law. The National Police urge to always verify the origin of second hand products and avoid getting involved in illegal activities.
