The City Council of Sant Josep has presented its program of activities for the Christmas holidays, designed to enjoy with the family and strengthen community togetherness. The program officially begins on December 5 with the lighting of the lights in the square of the church of Sant Josep, accompanied by a performance of the Cor de l’Urgell, children’s games and creative workshops. The Mercat de Nadal, located in Sant Jordi square, will be inaugurated on December 6 with activities such as workshops, face painting, and an open swing class, followed by a concert by Swingin Tonic. This market will remain open until January 6, with schedules that facilitate the visit both on weekdays and holidays. Among the proposals for the little ones is the skating rink, which will open on December 14 in Carrer de l’Ajuntament, and the expected Divernadal in the sports center of Can Guerxo. From December 27 to 30, this magical space will offer crafts, storytelling, inflatables, video games and interactive shows. The III Festival de Titelles will also be held at Can Guerxo between December 27 and 29.
Music, gastronomy and tradition
The program includes Christmas concerts with the participation of various local choirs and craft and gastronomy workshops for adults. Events such as the CaƱasnroll and Burgerfest, which will take place from December 7 to 14, invite you to enjoy tapas, hamburgers and live music in a selection of local venues in the municipality. On Christmas Eve, December 24, Sant Jordi will be the epicenter of the celebration with a night party animated by Dj VĆ”zquez and Dj Mr. Cardona. In addition, the New Year’s Eve chimes in Sant Josep and Sant Jordi will be brought forward to 12 noon, offering an alternative plan to enjoy with the family.
The magic of the Magi
The traditional parades of the Three Wise Men will tour Cala de Bou, Sant Josep, Sant AgustĆ and Sant Jordi on January 5 at different times, while in Es Cubells the Three Wise Men will arrive on January 6 at 6 pm. The day will culminate with a concert by Reya and the traditional tortell de reis.
