A tragic episode has shocked Can Pastilla, in Palma, where a woman has lost her life this Tuesday after being stabbed inside a vehicle. The National Police has arrested the driver of the car, a man in his 40s, as the alleged perpetrator of the murder, in a case that authorities are investigating with maximum diligence.
A devastating scenario
The incident occurred around 15:00 hours at number 33 of the Can Pastilla road. According to initial reports, following the assault, the car in which the woman was traveling was involved in a traffic accident. In the vehicle there was also a three-year-old minor, daughter of the victim, who was injured with a cranioencephalic traumatism. In addition, the accident affected another vehicle, causing injuries to a woman between 30 and 40 years old who was taken to the Clínica Palmaplanas with facial trauma.
First indications and arrest
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim’s body inside the car, with obvious stab wounds. Near the scene they found the driver, who was arrested as a suspect and taken into police custody. The Homicide Group of the Balearic Islands Police Headquarters has taken over the investigation to determine the link between the woman and the detainee, as well as to clarify the exact circumstances of the attack and the subsequent accident. At the scene worked agents of the Scientific Police, who collected evidence while the authorities try to confirm whether it is a case of male violence. For the moment, investigators are also trying to establish who was in the vehicle at the time of the aggression.
Injuries and hospitalization
The three-year-old child, daughter of the deceased, was taken to the Hospital de Son Espases with a guarded prognosis. The other woman involved in the accident also received medical attention for injuries sustained. While the investigations continue, the authorities have requested caution and respect in a case that has generated a deep impact in the community. The situation is still under analysis to determine responsibilities and provide answers to a tragedy that has left several lives scarred.
