The president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohenssaid Friday that the Executive is able to “continue governing” normally, despite not having managed to approve the 2025 budget after the break with Vox in Parliament.

According to the president, so far, her executive had managed to move forward all the initiatives presented, including the previous budgets.

Rupture with Vox and ideological differences

Prohens attributed the lack of agreement with Vox to differences in “territorial and linguistic matters”, stressing that “Vox has the legitimacy to present its amendments and demands, but it must understand that they are not shared by the PP, which has 25 deputies”. He also stated that these divergences have affected the parliamentary sphere, but not the governability of the executive. “On this path, Vox is not going anywhere,” he assured, emphasizing that his will is to “continue governing” despite the political difficulties.

Governance without budgets

Prohens showed confidence in the stability of her executive and defended that the rupture with Vox does not endanger the roadmap of her government. “We can continue to govern normally, with or without budgets,” she said, stressing that the Govern has managed to maintain a functional management despite the tensions in Parliament. The Balearic Government now faces the challenge of finding ways to manage without approved accounts, although Prohens minimized the impact of this situation. He insisted that the internal crises have been limited to the “parliamentary sphere”, without having repercussions on the government’s actions.
