A gang of three criminals, formed by two men and a woman, has been arrested in Santa Eulalia, accused of multiple robberies with force and theft of vehicles. The modus operandi was always the same: the alleged criminals took advantage of the car owners’ carelessness to steal open cars and use them later in other crimes before abandoning them. The operation began after receiving several reports of theft of vehicles in various parts of Santa Eulalia, including supermarket parking lots and homes. The investigation culminated last weekend when, during a routine crime prevention service, the Guardia Civil received a tip-off from the Santa Eulalia Local Police. The agents intercepted the suspects and, after searching them, found among their belongings the keys of a vehicle stolen hours earlier.
Search and incriminating findings
In a quick inspection of the area, the officers located the abandoned car in the vicinity. Inside were stolen items such as documents, a laptop computer, a television and several bundles of keys, probably from previous crimes.
Three arrested for several robberies
The two men and the woman, whose identities have not been revealed, were arrested and handed over to the Judicial Authority. They are accused of robbery with force and theft of vehicles, crimes that have generated great concern among the residents of Santa Eulalia. The Guardia Civil continues investigating to determine if the detainees are involved in other similar crimes committed on the island.
