The Abel Matutes Foundation has announced a significant increase in the budget of Palladium Cares, the Corporate Social Responsibility area of Palladium Hotel Group, increasing it tenfold. This increase will make it possible to finance projects with greater scope and impact in Europe and America, while ensuring the continuity of its work in Ibiza and Formentera, where the foundation was founded in the 1970s for social purposes.
Palladium Cares, structured around the pillars Our People, Our Community and Our Planet, will continue to develop initiatives that benefit the group’s employees, their families and the local communities where it operates. Recent projects include the inauguration of the Training and Family Care Center in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, a space that offers job training, sports activities and psychological care.
Expansion of social projects
Since its launch, Palladium Cares has managed seven community centers in countries such as Jamaica, Brazil and Mexico, offering accessible training aligned with local needs. In addition, initiatives such as ‘4 Causes to Take Action’, focused on children, social inequalities, elderly care and sustainability, have reached the Dominican Republic for the first time, with more than 1,220 volunteers and 2,800 beneficiaries in its first phases. The group has also launched innovative programs such as ‘Euro per stay’, which allows guests to contribute to local organizations, and ‘Guest of the Month’, offering free stays to families of collaborating NGOs.
Commitment to the environment
Sustainability is another central focus of Palladium Cares, with outstanding projects such as an agricultural center in Brazil that combines composting and sustainable farming techniques, generating employment and promoting the circular economy. In Spain, the hotels managed by the group in Ibiza and Tenerife collaborate with Caritas and the Red Cross to minimize food waste, allocating surplus food from the hotels to soup kitchens. The group also invests in energy efficiency and water consumption reduction policies, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and the preservation of natural resources.
