The group of specialized and violent crime (UDEV) of the Local Police Station of the National Police has achieved the arrest of a citizen of German origin, accused of of having robbed at gunpoint a currency store in the center of Ibiza in broad daylight.
The facts date back to December 5, when coinciding with the beginning of the holiday weekend, there was a robbery with a firearm in a commercial establishment located in a passage of the Paseo de Vara de Rey. At around 15:00 hours in the afternoon,a man wearing a helmet and with his face almost completely covered, entered the establishment, taking advantage of the fact that only the sales clerk was there, to perpetrate an intimidating robbery. After that, the individual left the store and walked to a nearby street where another person was waiting for him on a motorcycle, with which they fled the place. Immediately the investigations by the specialized group U.D.E.V. began, focusing their objective on the identification of the alleged perpetrator and his collaborator as well as on the location of the vehicle used for the escape, managing in a few days to identify the first of them, the main investigated.
Detention
Last Thursday, the National Police launched an operation that included the raid of a house, in which they managed to arrest the main suspect. In this way, the main part of the investigation was concluded, which continues, however, with the aim of clarifying the remaining unknowns that remain to be clarified, as reported this morning from the National Police. The alleged perpetrator has been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Guardia in Ibiza this morning.
