With the vote in favor of all political groups, with the exception of the PSOE who abstained, the Consell de Ibiza declaredthe new ‘deixalleria‘ of Sant Joan as an investment of insular interest, in the last plenary session of the year held this Friday.
This measure will speed up its opening, following the request of the City Council of Sant Joan to grant this qualification to the infrastructure. Although the ‘deixalleria’ was built about a year ago, it is located on a plot of rustic land for development owned by the consistory, which until now required complex procedures such as the approval of a partial plan, the reparcelling and the development of the land to obtain the activity license. However, thanks to the administrative simplification lawHowever, thanks to the law of administrative simplification, the Consell can take advantage of the figure of insular interest, previously reserved only for the Balearic Government, to streamline the process and put into operation this fixed clean point in less time. With a grant of 604,494.14 euros by the Consell de Ibiza, the new ‘deixalleria’ is located in the municipal land of sa Plana de na Marca. Sant Joan, along with Vila, is one of the two municipalities on the island that still lack a fixed deixalleria. The implementation of this facility will improve waste management in the town and increase recycling figures.
