The municipality of Sant Antoni will expand its electric vehicle charging network with the installation of 10 new double semi-fast charging points and a fast charging point. This project, which involves a total investment of 169,339.50 euros, seeks to promote sustainable mobility and respond to the growing use of electric vehicles on the island.
A strategic deployment
The new recharging points will be located in key places of the municipality, such as IES Sa Serra, IES QuartĆ³ de Portmany, CEIP Cervantes, the Municipal Library, the Sant Antoni Bus Stop, s’Era d’en ManyĆ square, CalĆ³ des Moro, the vicinity of the Local Police, the Sant Rafel parking, the Can Bonet Social Center and the Ses PaĆÆses playground. This strategic distribution aims to facilitate access to recharge in areas frequented by both residents and visitors.
Currently, Sant Antoni has five double charging points in its network. With this expansion, 10 new semi-fast chargers and a single-point fast charger will be added at the Bus Stop, reinforcing its position as a key point for electric mobility on the island.
Integration in the MELIB network
The new chargers will be part of the Mobilitat ElĆØctrica a les Illes Balears (MELIB) network, thanks to the agreement signed between the City Council and the Institut Balear de la EnergĆa (IBE). This integration will guarantee an efficient management system, advanced connectivity and proper maintenance of the charging points, optimizing their use for citizens.
Commitment to sustainability
With an execution period of seven months, the project reaffirms the Consistory’s commitment to environmental measures and the promotion of electric mobility. The City Council has emphasized that this initiative not only responds to the current needs of electric vehicle users, but also reinforces the commitment to a more sustainable transport model, adapted to the energy future of the island.
