The winter in Ibizaaccording to the seasonal analysis of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), will be marked by warmer than usual temperatures and rainfall within normal parameters. The season, which began on December 21 and will end on March 20, 2025, promises to maintain a mild climate for this time of year, although not without some rain.
Temperatures: warmer than average
The weather forecast suggests that temperatures in Ibiza will be slightly above historical values. In concrete terms, the usual average for winter is around 11 °C, but this season, highs are expected to reach values of between 15 °C and 17 °C, while lows will rarely fall below 7 °C.
This warm winter could be influenced by the persistence of high pressure systems and the prolonged absence of intense cold waves, a weather pattern that has also been observed in recent seasons.
Rainfall: within normal
As for rainfall, AEMET forecasts point to a winter with accumulated rainfall close to normal values for the island. This means that rainfall will oscillate around 100 liters per square meter in the quarter. Precipitation could be concentrated in punctual events, with dry periods interspersed. Although no extreme events are expected, more intense rainfall is possible on specific days, especially during the transition from January to February, a time known for atmospheric changes in the region.
Day-to-day impact
The combination of mild temperatures and moderate rainfall will allow residents and tourists to enjoy outdoor activities for much of the season. However, the AEMET recommends to be aware of weather warnings for rain or strong winds, which could occur occasionally. Winter 2024/2025 is shaping up to be a benign season in Ibiza, ideal for exploring the island and enjoying its characteristic tranquility at this time of year.
