La SD Portmany has announced the incorporation of two new players, Airam López Capacete and Carlos Navarro Calvo, who arrive to reinforce the team in the second half of the 2024/2025 season. Both players will bring experience and quality to the team led by the coach from Sant Antoni, which seeks to improve its position in the Third RFEF, where it currently ranks 12th out of 18.
Signings with trajectory and projection
Airam López, midfielder or playmaker, is a well-known name for Portmany fans. Formed in the club’s youth academy, Airam has passed through all youth categories, even reaching the national youth team. His quality in the distribution of the game and his verticality made him a key player in SD Ibiza, with which he achieved promotion last season in the Third Division. Now, he returns to the team that saw him grow to contribute his experience and perseverance. Carlos Navarro Calvo, left back, comes from CD Don Álvaro of the RFEF Third Division. The player, who was formed in the lower categories of CD Castellón and played for CD Numancia B, stands out for his speed, good positioning and forcefulness in defense. Carlos has been training with the team for weeks and is fully integrated into the dynamics of the club.
First challenge of the year: Llosetense
With these signings, SD Portmany seeks to start 2025 on the right foot. Their first challenge will be this Sunday, when they host Llosetense in a match corresponding to the 17th round of the RFEF Third Division. The team from Sant Antoni needs to get points to move away from the bottom of the table and start looking towards more ambitious positions. The reinforcements arrive at a key moment of the season, and both Airam and Carlos have expressed their enthusiasm to join the project and help the team achieve its objectives.
