The chain Palladium Hotel Group has announced an important change in its brand strategy in Ibiza. Starting this summer, the iconic The Ushuaïa Tower will be renamed The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel, marking the beginning of a new phase under The Unexpected Hotels brand, which combines luxury, entertainment and a sophisticated experience.
An evolution after more than a decade of success
Since its opening in 2011, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has been a global benchmark that has redefined the concept of luxury linked to musical entertainment.
After more than a decade of consolidating itself as one of the jewels of the Palladium portfolio, the group has decided to evolve the brand into The Unexpected Hotels, a proposal that promises to surprise guests with unique experiences in accommodation, gastronomy and entertainment. The transformation of The Ushuaïa Tower will be carried out gradually, culminating with its complete renovation in 2025. However, this summer, the hotel will begin operating under its new identity as The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel, with 181 rooms and suites completely renovated, while the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, with 234 rooms, will keep its name and essence.
A global strategy with international projection
The move not only marks a new era for the iconic brand in Ibiza, but also reflects Palladium Hotel Group’s ambitious expansion into new markets. The chain announced in April 2024 its foray into the United Arab Emirates with the development of The Unexpected Al Marjan Island Hotel & Residences, a project in collaboration with Al Marjan and Almal Real Estate Development, developers renowned for their luxury developments in the region. The group seeks to position itself as a benchmark in the global luxury offer, exporting the essence of Ibiza to international destinations while continuing to innovate in its proposals on the island.
