The Ibiza airport has launched a new charging system for electric vehicles with the installation of 24 double chargers distributed in its different parking lots. With this measure, 48 vehicles can be recharged at the same time, making this point the largest on the island in terms of charging infrastructure.
As reported by Aena in a statement, the chargers have been strategically installed in the parking areas of the airport complex. In detail, 26 chargers have been placed in the general parking, with 14 in P1 North and 12 in P1 South; 18 in the long-stay parking, and 4 in the E1 area, intended exclusively for workers.
Charging system operation and rates
Each charger has a QR code that allows users to download the AenaEV application, through which they can register their vehicle, select the charging point and program the time and power of the recharge. Once loading is complete, the system automatically stops the supply and unlocks the hose.
The service is not free and rates vary between 0.27 €/KWh and 0.40 €/KWh, depending on the type of load and with special conditions for airport employees. All information on prices and availability of charging points is available on the AenaEV app.
Commitment to sustainable mobility
This initiative is part of the Ibiza airport’s sustainability plan, with the aim of promoting electric mobility and reducing carbon emissions. Aena has emphasized that the measure is part of its decarbonization and energy efficiency strategy, promoting the use of clean energies in its facilities.
